Dangerous bat incidents at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field
Dear interested media outlets,
This is Jordan Skopp, founder of Foul Ball Safety Now, reaching out to you about an ongoing threat to baseball fan safety, evidenced by the fact that we’ve documented at least five dangerous incidents involving bats entering the seating areas at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field in the last 13 months.
For the past seven years, my team has been tracking threats to fan safety from bats and balls, and documenting far too many incidents of serious injuries and fatalities among fans.
A little more than a year ago, I was contacted by a major law firm regarding a lawsuit, and my team and I were able to assist them with relevant research for their trial preparation, regarding an infant struck by a bat nearly ten years ago.
Yet, no internal lessons have been learned from nearly a decade ago — professional baseball has continually failed to protect fans from preventable harm.
It's a slaughterhouse just waiting to happen. As recently as July 17, Freddie Freeman’s thrown bat was the latest documented bat incident at Yankee Stadium.
See for yourself as an investigative news organization theses five videos, and please question these unsafe business practices. I’m happy to be available for comment.
Thank you again,
Jordan Skopp
